CFHD are looking torecruit 3, 0.6wte, Occupational Therapy Technicians (based in North, South and East localities)to provide specialist

Occupational Therapy support within the Experts at Hand service through advice,consultation, modelling of strategies, training, and targeted intervention.

The post-holder will work as part of the multidisciplinary teamand autonomously to support children and young people, families, and professionals by building capacity within early years, school and post-16settings, delivering training, and offering time-limited direct interventionswhere indicated.

We are an integrated children's community service sand looking for enthusiastic individuals with some relevant experience to joinus.

To follow upassessment, planning implementation and evaluation of delegated caseload and escalating changes to the registered therapist for children and young people with physical and sensory, communication and interaction and cognition and learning needs in a variety of settings

To undertake clinicalinterventions utilising a variety of modes, including planning and leadinggroup and individual therapy.

To participate inordering and issue of appropriate equipment as part of packages of prescribedcare after achieving appropriate competencies

Using strengths-based approach; ensure clinical effectiveness through the use of evidenced-based interventions, goal-based, collaborative practice and Routine Outcome Measures

To support in the supervision of Trainees

To promote and supportparticipation of service users across the service

Produce materials andmake equipment as required

Assist in the delivery of training

• Training to NVQ level 3 or equivalent
• Additional CPD courses relevant to role equivalent to Diploma level
• Functional Skills at Level 2 (Literacy and numeracy/ GCSE grade A-C or equivalent in English and Maths)

• Working knowledge of typical child development
• Understanding of SEN/D process
• Awareness of professional issues and recent developments in the NHS and Primary Care including Clinical Governance, NICE, Essence of Care
• Knowledge of up to date clinical practice
• Working with children with special and complex needs
• Experience delivering therapeutic programmes
• Experience in working as a healthcare worker
• Experience of community working

• Well-developed communication and interaction skills
• Ability to keep accurate and legible patient notes
• Ability to maintain sensitivity at all times to clients, carers and families
• Excellent interpersonal skills - including observation, listening and empathy skills
• A proficient communicator in order to work with clients who have a range of communication difficulties-helping them
• Evidence of good analytical and reflection skills
• Ability to organise and prioritise workload
