Speech and Language Therapist (Experts at Hand) - CFHD
CFHD are lookingto recruit four 1.0wte Speech and Language Therapists to provide specialist Speech and Language Therapy support within the Experts at Hand service through advice, consultation, modelling of strategies, training, and targeted intervention.
The base locations for these will be in Exeter, North or South Devon.
The post-holder will work as part of the multidisciplinary team and autonomously to support children and young people, families, and professionals by building capacity within early years, school and post-16 settings,delivering training, and offering time-limited direct interventions where indicated.

Main duties of the jobThe speech and language therapy service within CFHD have transformed to work within the Balanced System framework.
The Speech, Language and Communication pathway consists of Speech and Language Therapists and Therapy Assistants working across Devon and Torbay.
The aim of the team is to ensure that specialist support is easily accessible within the community settings,providing both direct support to children, young people and families, and tothe wider community teams.
Everyone in the team is provided with regular supervision, opportunities for training and development.

Person Specification Experience- Relevant experience of working with children and young people with speech, language and communication needs in community / education settings
- Knowledge of a broad range of assessment tools relevant to working with children
- Well established knowledge of a broad range of appropriate therapeutic interventions to treat children
- Understanding of the principles of clinical governance /audit
- Understanding of the roles of other professionals (relevant to the client group)
- Knowledge of standards of record keeping
- Recognised Speech and Language Therapy Degree Qualification or equivalent
- Health Professions Council Licence to Practice
- Registered Member of Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists
- Membership of relevant Special Interest Groups
