Join Our Team as a Mental Health Recovery Worker

Location:

Ladysmith Road, Exeter

Working hours: Part-time role available – 18 hours per week – On a rota basis - 3 x 6 hours shifts – Alternating between 8:00 – 16:00 and 12:15 – 20:15 – Expectation, to work every other weekend.

(Full-time equivalent salary - £24,545 per annum)

Enhanced additional payments: £0.86 - Unsocial Hours, 1.5 x hourly rate - Bank Holiday

Devon Supported Housing is an individualised support service funded by Devon Partnership Trust. It offers housing related support to people with medium to high support needs, leaving a hospital or residential setting.

Our Ladysmith Road service in Exeter, is staffed 24/7, supports medium to high needs, using Safety Management Plans to reduce risk and focusses on recovery with SMART goals. We provide both 1:1 support and shared hours to help residents progress safely and confidently. Our service offers a safe, welcoming environment where individuals can develop confidence, build everyday living skills, and work towards their personal recovery goals.

Staff provide tailored practical and emotional support, helping residents improve their wellbeing and prepare for a more independent future within the community.

What I will do and achieve as a Mental Health Recovery Worker:

Are you passionate about empowering people to live independently and achieve their goals? Working within an experienced team you will support individuals experiencing mental ill health to promote independence. You’ll assess needs and risks, working in a person-centred, recovery-focused way to help people build confidence and thrive in the community.

How You Will Make a Difference

Provide key worker support, including one-to-one assistance and liaising with mental health agencies.

Use communication, motivation, and coaching to help individuals achieve personal goals.

Build trust and rapport based on respect and honesty, maintaining professional boundaries and following the Rethink Mental Illness Code of Conduct.

Encourage engagement in social and workplace activities, helping individuals regain confidence and independence.

Essential Skills And Experience

• Experience supporting people with mental illness in social care setting.
• Good listening skills, empathy, understanding, kindness, patience, and a willingness to learn.
• Ability to demonstrate behaviours consistent with the Charity's values.
• Excellent administration, organisation and planning skills.
• Competent in the use of IT systems including Microsoft applications, email and internet.
