Job Title: Community Psychiatric Nurse - Band 6
Trust: Devon Partnership NHS Trust
Location: Trust also covers areas in Exeter, Torquay, Ivybridge, Barnstaple. Main hospitals are Exeter and Torquay.
Pay Rates: £22.99 an hour
Shift Patterns: Monday to Friday 9-5

  • Providing robust assessment of patients (by telephone or face-to-face) who have been referred due to presenting with mental health difficulties.
  • Identifying appropriate care pathways and ensuring the least restrictive option to meet the needs of the patient and ensuring their wellbeing.
  • Signposting to appropriate care providers (including primary and tertiary care).
  • Raising concerns to senior staff for support and management.
  • Completing documentation and planning care for patients.
  • Presenting cases to Multi-Disciplinary Team for discussion around care pathway.
  • Liaison with colleagues nursing, occupational therapy, medics, psychology and admin.

The role will involve, but not be limited to you performing the above.
What you'll need:

  • A minimum of 6 months paid experience as a Community Psychiatric Nurse in a UK hospital environment within the last 3 years
  • Comply with NMC Professional Registration and keep up to date with current nursing practices
  • Full UK driving licence and own vehicle.
