On behalf of our client, Head First is recruiting Rehabilitation Support Workers to join a dedicated team providing one-to-one support to a young man in his 30s following a brain injury.

Our client has a great sense of humour, big ambitions, and a strong desire to live as independently as possible. He enjoys social activities, access to his local community, exercise, and spending time with people who encourage and support him to achieve his goals (such as undertaking paid or voluntary work and developing friendships.) He experiences significant cognitive challenges following his brain injury and is registered blind due to a visual impairment.

As part of a multidisciplinary rehabilitation team, you will play an important role in helping him maximise his independence, confidence, social participation, and quality of life. The Role Hours of work include weekdays, weekends, bank holidays and school holidays on a rolling rota basis. You will:
Support daily routines, planning and organisation. Assist with rehabilitation goals set by therapists and the wider multidisciplinary team. Encourage independence and confidence in everyday activities. Support community access, social activities and meaningful engagement. Assist with cooking, shopping, attending appointments and maintaining the home environment. Accompany the client to the gym, cycling activities and social outings. Work collaboratively with therapists, family members and other support staff.

Provide a reliable, positive and encouraging presence that promotes wellbeing and rehabilitation. Full training will be provided to support the client's complex health needs, including Addison's disease management and the administration of emergency injections when clinically indicated. About You We are looking for someone who is:
Compassionate, patient and motivated. Organised, proactive and reliable. Able to build positive and trusting relationships. Committed to promoting independence and person-centred support. Comfortable working both independently and as part of a wider team. A confident communicator. A driver with a full driving licence. Experience in care, rehabilitation, brain injury, mental health, community support or similar settings would be advantageous, although full training and support will be provided.

Experience supporting individuals with visual impairments or acquired brain injuries would be beneficial but is not essential.
