City West Country Limited (CWC) is a privately owned motor industry organisation with over 40 years of experience across the South West of England. Responsibilities

The Human Resources Advisor role is a contract, on-site position based in Exeter. The HR Advisor will provide day-to-day HR support to managers and team members, including advising on HR policies, procedures, and best practices. Responsibilities include managing employee relations cases, supporting performance and absence management, and ensuring compliance with labor and employment law. The role involves preparing HR documentation, maintaining accurate HR records, and assisting with recruitment, onboarding, and induction processes.

The HR Advisor will also collaborate with management to support HR initiatives that promote a positive, inclusive workplace and effective people management.

Qualifications
  • Strong Human Resources (HR) and HR Management skills, with experience providing advisory support to managers and employees.
  • Knowledge of HR Policies and procedures, with the ability to interpret and apply them consistently across the organization.
  • Solid understanding of Labor and Employment Law, ensuring compliance in all HR practices and decisions.
  • Experience in Employee Relations, including handling investigations, grievances, and disciplinary processes in a fair and impartial manner.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and conflict-resolution skills, with the ability to build trust and credibility at all levels.
  • Strong organizational and time-management abilities, with attention to detail and confidentiality in handling sensitive information.
  • Proficiency in HR systems and Microsoft Office applications; experience in the automotive or retail sector is beneficial.
  • Relevant HR qualification (e.g., CIPD or equivalent) or substantial practical experience in an advisory HR role.
