Resourcing Officer

Location: Exeter, Police Headquarter, Winfrith, Dorset

Salary: Starts at £30,333 rising by yearly increments to a maximum of £34,662 per annum

Vacancy Type: Permanent, Full Time (37 hours per week)

Closing Date: 04th of September 2026

The Role

This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in delivering high-quality recruitment, selection and promotion services for a range of roles including police officers, police staff, apprenticeships and volunteers.

As a Resourcing Officer, you will supervise a small team of administrators, ensuring the delivery of an efficient, customer-focused service across resourcing. You will be responsible for overseeing day-to-day activity, maintaining high service standards and supporting the development of team members. Working closely with Senior Resourcing Officers, you will coordinate and support the planning and delivery of recruitment campaigns, helping to meet organisational workforce requirements.

You will also provide professional advice and guidance on recruitment matters, managing escalated issues and offering solutions.

The role can be based at Devon & Cornwall or Dorset Police Headquarters.

This role offers hybrid working, This role will require the post holder to travel to alternative locations on an ad hoc basis to undertake the role, travel expenses will be reimbursed in accordance with force policy

While we currently have one permanent vacancy available, we are also looking to establish a suitability pool for anticipated opportunities arising in the near future.

The Person

The successful candidate will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to coach, motivate and develop others to deliver a high-quality service. You will be confident supervising a small team, ensuring performance standards and service levels are consistently achieved. You will be proactive, organised and capable of working independently and collaboratively to meet deadlines and resolve queries within agreed timescales.

Strong IT skills are essential, including proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook, together with the ability to learn and use bespoke systems.

Applicants should have experience of recruitment and resourcing processes, together with knowledge of employment law. Experience of HR systems is desirable although training will be provided where required.
