Information Communication Technician; Support Technician
Role Summary
This apprenticeship is working toward a Level 3 Information Communication Technician qualification and is suitable for school/college leavers and those who have no IT qualification/experience but wish to start a career in IT. The Digital Services Department is offering a month Information Communication Technician - Support Technician Apprenticeship. The Digital Services Service Desk is a small team providing first line support for IMT services to Healthcare organisations across Devon.
The successful applicants will work at all times under the supervision of a qualified/experienced member of staff and provide first line support to clients on all matters relating to IT provision.
Examples of the daily responsibilities include:
- Eliciting information from clients in a succinct manner.
- Recording any work requests accurately in our bespoke Service Desk application.
- Fixing certain issue reported by clients during their initial contact.
- Creating and managing Active Directory objects.
- Liaising with both internal and third party support teams.
- Is punctual and reliable.
- Is a good team player.
- Possesses effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Has a positive “can do” attitude.
- Has a strong desire to follow an IT career pathway.

- Business Processes
- Functional skills in IT, English and maths (if required)
The salary equates to % of a Band 3 for the first months and, subsequently, % for the final 6 months.
Working HoursMonday to Friday 9 am to 5 pm.
