Our Employment team provides clear, practical advice to senior professionals on all aspects of the employment relationship. Acting for directors, senior executives and employees as well as employers across a range of organisations, the team advises on matters including contract negotiations, bonus and share arrangements, directors’ service agreements, workplace disputes and settlement agreements. Recognised for its technical expertise and pragmatic approach, the team provides both day-to-day advice and representation in complex employment disputes, including tribunal claims, where it handles matters from initial instruction through to advocacy at final hearings.

Alongside this broad range of expertise, we draw on our specialist sector knowledge to serve clients in areas such as housing, hotels, and holiday and residential caravan parks.

What you’ll be doing

We work with employers of all sizes across Devon and the South West, from small businesses to charities and larger organisations. Your work will include advising on a broad range of day-to-day employment law matters. This will involve drafting and reviewing employment contracts, policies, and settlement agreements, as well as supporting clients through disciplinary and grievance processes. You will also assist with managing Employment Tribunal claims and provide employment law support on corporate transactions.

Alongside your technical work, you will play an active role in building and maintaining strong relationships with clients.

What we’re looking forYou will be a 1+ years PQE solicitor or FCILEx who is commercially minded, client-focused, and keen to develop your career in employment law throughout the duration of this fixed-term contract.

In addition to excellent client skills, you will demonstrate enthusiasm and a high level of commitment to your work, and you will be confident in your ability to run your own caseload. As well as being comfortable working collaboratively within our team, you will also be able to work independently.
