Senior Buyer / Materials Buyer (Permanent)

Sphere Solutions are seeking an experienced Buyer with construction experience to join a well-established contractor in Exeter
.

With at least 5 years’ experience as a Buyer, this opportunity will suit an individual with a proven track record in procuring materials, who is commercially aware, has excellent negotiation skills, and is local to Exeter.

• Procure all materials for the best possible price
• Mentor junior team members
• Analyse current supply chain price agreements and obtain competitive prices
• Compare suppliers’ quotes and analyse prices against tender allowances
• Research product information and alternative products
• Assist the accounts department to resolve/avoid invoice queries
• Measure quantities of materials if required

• Proven experience in a similar role with construction knowledge
• Highly organised with attention to detail
• Ability to prioritise tasks and work in a fast-paced environment
• Good negotiation skills
• Comprehensive understanding of MS Excel & Outlook
• Construction-related qualification preferred but not essential
