FCL Import Supervisor | Sea Freight

Basildon, Essex £32,000 £ 45,000 per annum, depending on experience Permanent | Full-time | Site-based We are supporting an established international freight forwarding business in Basildon as they look to hire an experienced FCL Import Supervisor for their Sea Freight Import department. This is a hands-on operational role combining end-to-end FCL import management with responsibility for supporting colleagues, coordinating workloads and maintaining departmental service standards.

Strong hands-on FCL import freight forwarding experience is essential.

Key Responsibilities Manage FCL imports from origin through to final UK delivery Support the day-to-day running of the FCL Import department Coordinate workloads, priorities and key customer requirements Provide operational guidance and support to colleagues Liaise with overseas agents, shipping lines, hauliers and warehouses Coordinate customs clearance, transport and final delivery Monitor container availability, allocations and carrier performance Manage Bills of Lading and associated import documentation Resolve complex shipments and act as an escalation point Maintain accurate shipment records and identify process improvements Experience Required Strong end-to-end FCL import freight forwarding experience Good knowledge of Bills of Lading and import documentation Understanding of UK customs clearance procedures Experience dealing with shipping lines, hauliers and overseas agents Strong organisational and problem-solving skills Previous experience supervising, training, mentoring or providing day-to-day guidance to members of an FCL import team Benefits £32,000 £ 45,000, depending on experience 20 days holiday plus bank holidays, increasing with service Contributory pension and health scheme following probation Free on-site parking On-site gym and canteen This is a fully site-based position in Basildon.
