Job Description & How to Apply Below

At ENGIE, we are committed to powering a carbon-neutral future. Our Anaerobic Digestion plants turn organic waste into renewable energy, and we need skilled people to keep them running at their best. This is where you come in.

As a Maintenance Manager, you will combine hands‑on technical expertise with team leadership. You will ensure our AD plant operates safely, efficiently, and at maximum output. Your work directly supports the energy transition — every day.

Summary of what you will do
  • Lead and carry out electrical and mechanical maintenance across AD plant systems, ensuring maximum uptime and performance.
  • Monitor and control plant processes using SCADA systems, including diagnostics, fault‑finding, and process optimisation.
  • Supervise maintenance staff, apprentices, and contractors, supporting their development and managing workloads effectively.
  • Support the Regional Plant Manager in daily operations and deputise in their absence.
  • Deliver planned and reactive maintenance on pumps, conveyors, heating, feeding, and associated process systems.
  • Lead root cause analysis on equipment failures and implement lasting corrective actions.
  • Ensure full compliance with safe systems of work, RAMS, permits, and fire safety standards.
What you will bring to the role
  • Proven experience as an Electrical Technician in an industrial or process environment.
  • Knowledge of electrical panels, PLC hardware/software, and SCADA systems.
  • Experience in a supervisory or team leadership role.
  • Strong diagnostic and fault‑finding skills across mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
  • Comp Ex F and EX01–04 (desirable but not essential).
  • Full UK Driving Licence and a proactive, solutions‑focused mindset.
Location

This is an on‑site role based at our Anaerobic Digestion facility at Gorst near Exeter.

What We Offer
  • A competitive salary with clear progression pathways and long‑term career development within ENGIE.
  • A diverse range of missions — from hands‑on maintenance to leadership, process optimisation, and continuous improvement projects.
  • Stimulating, meaningful work that directly contributes to renewable energy generation.
  • A friendly, supportive team environment where collaboration and knowledge‑sharing are valued.
  • Flexibility where possible, with a focus on work‑life balance and employee wellbeing.
  • Access to training, professional development, and industry‑recognised qualifications.
