The RoleWe’re seeking an experienced and customer-focused Travel Services Manager to lead the University’s Travel Team. This role oversees all staff, student, and visitor travel arrangements, ensuring efficient bookings and exceptional service delivery.
You’ll manage key supplier relationships to maintain strategic partnerships and best value, while promoting sustainable travel options in line with the University’s carbon reduction goals.
The role includes leading and developing the Travel Team, driving continuous improvement, and delivering insightful management information on travel activity, costs, and emissions.

About You Key Skills and Experience- Degree or equivalent professional experience, with evidence of ongoing professional development
- Proven leadership ability with experience driving change and managing high-performing teams
- Strong problem-solving skills, able to respond quickly and effectively to changing demands
- Excellent knowledge of IT tools, including MS Office 365, automation solutions, and Power BI
- Experience managing a high-quality, customer‑focused travel service or similar operation
- Sound understanding of the travel industry, including working with travel management companies and suppliers
- Strong stakeholder engagement and influencing skills, with experience building relationships at all levels
- Knowledge of procurement and supplier management processes
- Financial awareness, including experience with budgets and finance systems
- Experience of incident management with effective, timely outcomes
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills
- High attention to detail, with a commitment to service excellence and continuous improvement
- Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast‑paced environment
- Experience working in a hybrid working environment
