We’re looking for a Senior Project Co-ordinator to support multiple projects in the South West region, as part of our new, flexible SW Project Support Team.

These will include a project to renaturalise a river for fish passage and climate resilience, and a project restoring peatlands through a regional partnership. Other projects may support any of the National Trust strategy areas.

Contract: This is a fixed term contract due to end when the postholder returns to the role. At this point we cannot confirm exactly how long this contract will last, but it is unlikely to be more than 12 months.

Part-time, 22.5 hours per week

You’ll be based in the National Trust office at Killerton near Exeter, or any other South West regional office (Lanhydrock, Bristol, Tisbury).

What it's like to work here

Reporting to the Senior Programme Manager, you’ll be part of a team of 8 project co-ordinators and part of a wider team of project professionals.

The SW Project Support Team is part of the Specialist Delivery function and works flexibly across multiple projects whilst collaborating to support each other and share learning. The team is recently established, so it is an exciting time to join and help shape our ways of working.

What you'll be doing

You’ll work closely with colleagues from the different projects you cover, including project managers and subject experts from the Trust, to get a good understanding of the projects and provide support to ensure they run smoothly.

You’ll organise the project team and board meetings, co-ordinate grant claims for external funders, and be involved in procuring goods and services for the projects.

You’ll handle the systems and processes needed to collect, manage and maintain accurate information on the projects, across risk, governance, and finance, including getting up to speed with using the Trust’s new project management system later in the year. You’ll proactively use this information to report on the progress of each of the projects you cover, to a high standard and to deadlines.

Who

we're looking for
  • practically experienced in project management processes, administration and systems, including procurement, finance and reporting
  • good at working with all kinds of people and organisations, able to build and sustain strong working relationships
  • familiar with budgeting and able to collate, maintain, analyse and prepare data for reports
  • used to conducting research or analysing evidence (including past findings, market research and understanding audiences) to support decisions
  • comfortable with Microsoft packages, especially Excel, and other systems such as financial and visitor analytics
  • skilled at multi-tasking, prioritising your workload and meeting targets through your thorough and detailed approach to work
  • confident with managing diaries and organising practicalities for face-to-face meetings.
