The role You will lead a large, multi-disciplinary workshop team, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time and within budget. Working closely with production teams, you will translate design ideas into buildable solutions while maintaining smooth day-to-day workshop operations.
Key Responsibilities Lead and manage workshop staff and freelancers, setting clear expectations and maintaining performance Plan resources, workflows, and schedules across multiple concurrent projects Oversee scenic construction from concept through to completion Review technical drawings and ensure buildability and accuracy Monitor budgets, materials, and labour to maintain strong commercial performance Maintain high build standards with low error rates Build a collaborative, accountable, and safety-first team culture Ensure full compliance with UK Health & Safety regulations and RAMS Support training, mentoring, and development across the workshop team Act as the main link between workshop and production teams, ensuring clear communication About our company You will be joining a fast-paced and creative production environment known for delivering ambitious and technically challenging projects.

You should have:
Proven experience managing large, multi-disciplinary workshop teams Strong technical knowledge across materials and construction methods Confidence interpreting technical drawings and designs Experience managing budgets, scheduling, and resources Solid understanding of UK Health & Safety legislation Excellent decision-making and organisational skills A calm and practical approach in high-pressure environments Relevant qualifications in construction, stagecraft, engineering, or health & safety would be advantageous.
