Assistant Project Manager (PMCM - Buildings)
Our PMCM Build team is ready to hire Assistant Project Managers to support the delivery of high value and/or complex infrastructure projects involving multidisciplinary teams working for the Department for Education and other similar clients. To succeed in this role you will need to demonstrate effective ability to support the leadership of projects and proactive management skills at both client and project level to deliver all aspects of control, with a real focus on the management of programmes, cost, and quality of work being delivered internally and externally.
Key Responsibilities- Supporting the management of projects from RIBA 1 to 6, providing the client with a consultancy project management service, offering advice and guidance as required throughout the project
- Supporting the development of plans and strategies to successfully deliver the project objectives
- Supporting and managing the project team
- Supporting the identification and resolution of differences between individuals and/or interest groups
- Supporting the Lead Consultant to agree contracts on behalf of the client, in liaison with their legal representatives and monitoring compliance and managing variances
- Supporting the Lead Consultant on the production of Feasibility Reports, taking inputs from various sources, managing its progress and delivering to the client a high quality report
- Monitoring and reporting on progress against agreed programmes at all stages and agreeing strategies to keep on programme or mitigation measures when timescales may vary
- Experience of public sector projects working with Local and Central Government agencies, in particular, Education would be desirable
- Knowledge of Health and Safety Regulations applicable to infrastructure projects, in particular CDM regulations
- Experience of the different stages of projects from Feasibility Study stage through to Operation would be desirable
- Experience supporting the procurement of contractors, development of contractual documents and achieving Contract Close on projects
- Experience working with a multidisciplinary team on behalf of a client, liaising with a diverse range of specialisms
- Experience of supporting the development and management of programmes and the identification of issues and development of solutions to resolve time challenges
- Experience supporting the identification and management of risk and strategies to avoid or mitigate their outcomes
- Understanding of cost management of a project and the importance of maintaining the best value to the client whilst maintaining quality
- Chartership to MAPM, MCIOB, MRICS or equivalent is desirable
