This is a significant leadership opportunity for an accomplished professional who is passionate about delivering outstanding social care services and driving transformational change across a large and diverse geographical area of Devon. The post is graded at £74,825 and forms a key part of the Adult Social Care senior leadership structure.

Working closely with the Assistant Director for Health and Social Care, you will lead the strategic and operational delivery of integrated adult social care services across Eastern and Northern Devon. You will be responsible for a broad portfolio of services, leading large multidisciplinary teams whilst ensuring the highest standards of practice, performance, safeguarding, quality and financial stewardship.

This influential role provides the opportunity to shape services that make a real difference to the lives of local people. You will work across organisational boundaries, building strong relationships with NHS partners, providers, voluntary sector organisations, local communities and other stakeholders to support the continued development of integrated health and social care services.

As a member of the Devon Operations Senior Leadership Team, you will play a leading role in service redesign, workforce development, quality improvement and the delivery of efficiency and transformation programmes. You will also deputise for senior leaders when required and contribute to countywide initiatives that support Devon County Council’s strategic ambitions.

We are looking for a leader who can inspire others, manage complexity with confidence and deliver positive outcomes in a challenging and rapidly evolving environment. You will bring substantial senior management experience in adult social care, strong partnership working skills, a proven ability to lead change and a commitment to putting people who use services and their carers at the centre of everything you do.

What

  • A relevant degree and/or professional qualification.
  • Substantial experience at senior management level within adult social care.
  • Extensive operational knowledge of social care services and statutory responsibilities.
  • A proven track record of leading transformational change and service improvement.
  • Strong financial management skills, including responsibility for significant budgets.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation and influencing skills.
  • The ability to develop effective partnerships across health, social care and wider system organisations.
  • A commitment to delivering high-quality, person-centred services and positive outcomes for Devon residents.
