Maintenance Technician
Location: Exeter, Devon
Salary:
- Swing Shift: £43,600- £46,200
- Continental Day Shift: £49,000- £52,000
Shifts:
- Continental: 2 on, 2 off, 3 on, 2 off, 2 on, 3 off
- Swing: 6am-2pm one week, 2pm-10pm the following week
Employment Type: Permanent, Full-Time
About the RoleButler Rose is proud to be recruiting for a Maintenance Technician on behalf of a leading employer in Exeter. This is a permanent, full-time opportunity offering a choice of shift patterns and a highly competitive salary package.
Key Responsibilities- Minimise production downtime by fault finding and resolving equipment breakdowns, preventing reoccurrences.
- Perform preventative and planned maintenance on industrial equipment and building infrastructure.
- Use mechanical and electrical drawings and documentation to undertake fault finding and modifications to industrial machines and equipment.
- Contribute to improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing equipment reliability and eliminating recurring faults.
- Maintain a clean and safe working environment, adhering to all company EHS policies.
- Continuously enhance job knowledge through on-site experience, training, and development opportunities.
- Completion of a time-served apprenticeship with a minimum Level 3 qualification (BTEC/City & Guilds or equivalent) in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.
- Demonstrated proficiency in industrial maintenance and fault finding on electrical, pneumatic, or hydraulic systems.
- Proven competency in reading and interpreting electrical and/or mechanical diagrams, and fault finding in control panels on industrial systems.
- Experience in any of the following is advantageous: PLCs, fabrication, welding, vacuum technology.
- Computer literacy and familiarity with office software applications is an advantage.
- Resilient, resourceful approach with sound judgement and decision-making skills.
- Ability to pass a medical assessment, including working at height and in confined spaces.
- Proactive work ethic, strong initiative, and the ability to operate independently within a shift team environment.
