Position Overview

Theatre Practitioner – Operating Department Practitioner – Scrub (RGN / ODP) is a part‑time bank role at Nuffield Health Exeter Hospital. Pay is up to £26.50 per hour depending on experience. The role includes weekend work and involves working in a multidisciplinary team covering a varied patient caseload.

Responsibilities
  • Work in a multi‑disciplinary team covering a varied patient caseload.
  • Use state‑of‑the‑art technology, equipment and facilities.
  • Supervise, support and develop junior members of the team.
  • Provide high‑quality perioperative care in a multidisciplinary team setting.
  • Create high‑quality care and patient experiences that are clinically effective and evidence based.
  • Have ample opportunities for continuous growth and personal development, which can include Surgical First Assist training.
Qualifications

You are registered with the appropriate governing body (NMC or HCPC). Post‑registration experience in scrub roles within a theatre environment is required. You are a team player with a passion for exceptional patient care.

Hospital Overview

The Exeter Nuffield Hospital is located next to the RD&E hospital in Wonford, Exeter. It has two theatres, a hybrid cardiac catheter laboratory/theatre, an endoscopy suite, an inpatient area with 21 beds, a day‑case ward with 12 beds, and outpatient, pharmacy, physiotherapy and radiology departments. We specialise in elective orthopaedic and spinal surgery, cardiology including invasive procedures, general surgery, plastics and cosmetic surgery, ENT and gynaecology.

The hospital is known for joint replacement surgery using a MAKO robot.
