Registered Nurse

Band 5 Registered Nurse post in Health Care for Older People at Royal Devon University Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust, across wards including Kenn, Bovey, Ashburn and Capener. The work centres on frail older patients, many with dementia or delirium, so dementia, acute medicine or end of life experience is valued. Most posts are fixed-term cover of 6 to 12 months, with some permanent roles, on 11.5-hour shifts, mainly days with some rotation to nights.

Newly qualified nurses are welcomed, and current NHS staff may apply on secondment.

• Provide compassionate, skilled nursing care to older people on the wards
• Care for frail older people, many of whom have dementia or delirium
• Work as part of a multidisciplinary ward team

• NMC registration as a registered nurse

• Good communication skills to work within the team

• Flexibility to work long 11.5-hour shifts, mainly days with some rotation to nights

• Experience caring for patients living with dementia
• Experience in acute medicine
• Experience in end of life care
