Veterinary Surgeon

Overview

Estuary Vets is an Independent 100% small animal practice on the edge of Topsham in Devon, which opened in May 2025. We are seeking a full or part-time veterinarian to join a team of two MRCVS (currently 1.6 FTE) and three RVN (3 FTE) in a purpose-built, spacious and well-equipped facility with room for expansion. Our location offers easy access, ample parking, and a peaceful setting beside the estuary in East Devon.

The team includes a surgical cert-holding vet and a diagnostic imaging cert-holding RVN, and we readily work with peripatetic vets in cardiology, oncology, physio and acupuncture. We are investing in laparoscopic equipment with a team experienced at delivering this to extend our diverse offering. We strive to provide a high standard of personal care to the community and favour EVBM with a team-based approach to learning and development to deliver great care.

Our Out of Hours agreement is with a local independent practice. We welcome proactive client input and have received positive feedback about our care standards.

This role offers the following benefits:

• Provide veterinary services as part of a small animal practice, contributing to high standards of care.
• Collaborate with colleagues, including surgical and diagnostic teams, and work with peripatetic specialists as needed.
• Participate in the development of the practice and in learning and development activities to deliver excellent patient and client care.
• Support the practice in expanding services and revenue streams, including new referrals and evolving treatment options.
• Engage with the practice’s OOH arrangements as applicable.

• Full or part-time veterinarian with eligibility for MRCVS registration.
• Willingness to work in a modern facility with evolving capabilities (e.g., upcoming laparoscopic equipment).
• Commitment to EVBM and a team-based, client-centered approach.

• Meaningful contribution to the development of the Practice.
• A competitive salary of 42K-65K DOE, with potential to create new revenue streams through referrals.
• Working up to 40 hours per week (full-time) with up to 1 in 3 Saturday mornings.
• Holiday entitlement of 5 weeks plus bank holidays pro rata, with flexibility from employers.
