MWH Treatment are looking to strengthen our SHEQ team with a SHEQ Advisor based in the South West Water region. Interim maternity cover is required 2 days a week until June 2027 within the Thames Region (Guildford).

You will report directly to the Regional Senior SHEQ Advisor and your role will cover advising the SHEQ team.
Key Responsibilities- Understanding our approach to managing SHEQ risk and delivering best in class performance.
- Maintaining a dynamic and driven approach to supporting SHEQ across the company.
- Monitoring and reviewing the closure/completion of corrective actions to ensure that they deliver clear improvements and have been suitably and effectively implemented.
- Organising audits and supporting the delivery and execution of SHEQ assurance visits.
- Conducting accident/incident investigations and/or supporting investigations conducted by the H&S Team.
- Integrating within the wider project teams to understand day to day challenges.
- Working with our clients to deliver collaborative approaches to SHEQ.
- Exposure to the project management lifecycle of project delivery.
- Highlighting opportunity for sustainable solutions.
- Trending and analysis of key performance data.
- Maintenance of our externally certified management systems.
- Experience in the Construction sector
- Ability to travel to all sites in region
- Knowledge of current and pending HSE Directives for health and safety
- Knowledge of current statutory health and safety law in the UK
- Knowledge of Construction (Design and Management) Regulations (CDM)
- Knowledge of good practice in construction, e.g. HSE guidance and approved codes of practice.
- Knowledge of OHSAS 45001 (or similar management systems)
- Formal qualification in Occupational Safety and Health, e.g. NEBOSH diploma or better.
- Membership of recognised H&S Institution to an appropriate level.
- Experience in the water sector
- Current full driving licence
- Ability to collect, analyse and evaluate large volumes of data whilst maintaining data integrity.
- Ability to identify trends in data and clearly articulate the issue or findings.
- Proven experience of working as part of a SHEQ team.
- Ability to interpret legislation and Approved codes of Practise.
- Good organisational and time management skills.
- Ability to work both as a team member and under own initiative.
- Good communicator who's comfortable engaging at all levels within the organisation as you will be advising the team at a senior level.
- Confidence to make decisions whilst recognising when appropriate to consolidate issues or concerns.
- Good Microsoft Office skills especially Visio, Excel and PowerPoint.
- CSCS card
- Technical or Certified membership of IOSH
- Construction-related health and safety qualification such as NEBOSH Construction.
