Food Safety & Quality Manager

Food Safety & Quality Manager Tewkesbury, Gloucestershire Up to £40,000 The Opportunity We are working with a food manufacturing business in Gloucestershire that is looking to appoint a Food Safety & Quality Manager to take ownership of site food safety, quality, and compliance systems. This is a hands-on position offering responsibility for maintaining industry standards, customer requirements, and regulatory compliance, while driving continuous improvement and supporting the development of a strong food safety culture across the site.

Key Responsibilities Manage and maintain the site's HACCP and Food Safety Management Systems. Lead internal audits and support external audits, including BRCGS and customer audits. Ensure compliance with food safety legislation, customer standards, and quality requirements. Drive continuous improvement initiatives relating to food safety, hygiene, and quality performance. Review and update policies, procedures, risk assessments, specifications, and quality documentation. Investigate non-conformances, customer complaints, and quality issues, implementing corrective and preventative actions.

Support and monitor GMP and hygiene standards across manufacturing operations. Deliver food safety training and coaching across site. Monitor, analyse, and report on food safety and quality KPIs. Liaise with customers, suppliers, auditors, and regulatory bodies when required. Promote and embed a positive food safety culture throughout the business. The Candidate The successful candidate will have:

Experience with in a food manufacturing environment. Strong working knowledge of HACCP and Food Safety Management Systems. Experience supporting or leading BRCGS audits. Good understanding of GMP, food safety legislation, and quality management systems. Internal auditing experience. Strong communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with operational teams. Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail. Food Safety Level 4 and HACCP qualifications would be advantageous.
