Laboratory Technician

We are looking for a Laboratory Technician to work in an expanding business across multiple industry segments.

Work across a 3‑shift rotation (6am‑2pm / 2pm‑10pm / 10pm‑6am) with a 15% shift premium on the base salary.

• Analyse alloy samples by instrumental techniques:
  Combustion, Optical Emission and X‑ray Fluorescence. Samples include preliminary melt samples, certification samples and remelt samples from casting plants and external customers.
• Prepare samples for analysis.
• Perform routine maintenance and standardisation of laboratory equipment.
• Enter results into the company database.
• Calculate bath additions during heat manufacture.

• Science background with strong mathematical and computer skills.
• Ability to interpret results and make decisions on alloy chemistry adjustments within the scope of the role.
• Flexibility to work within a small team providing 24/7 laboratory cover across the 3‑shift pattern.
• Meticulous, with exceptional attention to detail.
• Can work alone, self‑sufficiently, and independently prioritise tasks.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.

37.5 hours per week, 3‑shift rotation (6am‑2pm / 2pm‑10pm / 10pm‑6am) with a 15% shift premium.
