JWR is recruiting a Junior Sous Chef for a busy, quality‑focused kitchen in Exeter. This is a fantastic opportunity for an ambitious chef looking to step up, develop leadership skills, and be part of a fresh, food‑led operation with a strong focus on quality and consistency.

As Junior Sous Chef, you’ll support the Head Chef in the day‑to‑day running of the kitchen, help lead service, maintain high standards, and develop the junior brigade. You will be hands‑on during service and play a key role in prep, organisation, and team training. Fresh pizza/dough experience is highly desirable, with a passion for working with quality ingredients and producing food to a consistently high standard.
Key Responsibilities- Support the Head Chef with daily kitchen operations
- Lead sections during service and ensure smooth execution
- Prepare fresh dough and pizza bases to specification
- Maintain food quality, consistency, and presentation
- Support training and development of junior chefs
- Ensure food safety, hygiene, and cleanliness standards are met
- Experience as a Junior Sous Chef or strong Chef de Partie ready to step up
- Fresh pizza/dough experience preferred
- Passionate about quality food and well‑run kitchens
- Calm, organised, and reliable under pressure
- A positive team player with strong work ethic
