Position: Commis Chef (Fixed Term Contract)

Commis Chef (Fixed Term Contract 20 th March to 1 st November 2026)

Hours:30 hours per week

Salary: Up to £12.42 per hour

The Role

To assist the chefs of all levels in the smooth and effective running of the kitchen and to show a willingness to learn from your peers. The main goals are to make sure as a member of the team you are performing to the best of your ability and are prepping and delivering food to a high standard.

Key Responsibilities
  • Attending work on time in clean uniform, correct footwear and with good personal hygiene
  • Show a willingness to learn from senior members of the team
  • Kitchen cleaning daily, deep cleaning and pot washing
  • Show a keen eye for detail within each section
  • Learn how to rotate stock and check deliveries
  • Be prepared to assist in any area of the business
  • Clear communication with line management
  • Showing your co‑workers the respect deserved
  • Following Safe Food Better Business guidelines
  • Following company safety standards & COSHH standards
  • Above all have a passion for home cooked food and to become a chef
  • Carry out such other duties as may reasonably be required.
  • Report any Health & Safety matters immediately to the Head Chef/ Sous Chef and take remedial action within the realms of your training, ensuring the Company remains compliant.
  • To comply with the company policies regarding the following:
    • Fire
    • Health & Safety
    • COSHH
    • Security
  • Any other ad hoc duties requested by management.

  • Previous kitchen experience is beneficial
  • Flexibility with ability to work weekends
  • The ability to work up to 1 st November 2026
  • Proactive with good communication.
