Assistant Manger

Our Garden Centre based in Newton Abbot is looking for an experienced Assistant Manager to strengthen its managerial team. This role is responsible for the smooth running of the centre alongside the department supervisors and head office.

Candidates must be confident in customer facing roles and have previous experience in retail management.

Details of this role:

We can offer rates of pay well above the industry average following completion of a successful trial period, a long‑term career in retail as well as plenty opportunities to advance into retail management. The starting rate of this role is between £16 and £17 which is equivalent to between £33,000- £35,500 per year. Holiday is pro rata based on days worked – approx.

28 days per year.

This role has excellent career potential for the right candidate. You will be part of a six person management team running a busy retail garden centre reporting to the store manager / head office.

This role is hands‑on and physically demanding, requiring you to be on your feet all day and handle heavy lifting. A good level of physical fitness and a passion for active work are essential. Regular weekends and bank holidays are required to meet business needs, so please do not apply if you can't work weekends.
