The South West Regional Organised Crime Unit are recruiting a Fraud and Cyber Prevent, Protect, Prepare Advisor, to reduce the overall impact from fraud and cybercrime in the Southwest Region through raising awareness, information sharing and promoting preventative measures that allow individuals and businesses to protect themselves.
In this role you will be able to have a positive impact on the future prospects of those people who are at risk of criminality through fraud and cybercrime. You will educate, inform, and inspire people at all levels working as part of a UK-wide team to help make the UK the safest place to live and do business. You will also identify and divert people away from fraud and cyber dependent crime.
SWROCU is a collaboration of police officers and police staff from the five South West regional forces. We are part of a national network of nine ROCUs covering England and Wales.

Pursue offenders, Protect and Prepare individuals and organisations, and Prevent people from engaging in serious and organised crime.
Our capabilities are here to advise, to assist, or to fully adopt investigations.
We work with local forces and national partners to target and disrupt criminals posing the greatest risk of Serious and Organised Criminality (SOC). This includes offenders involved in cyber threats, economic crime, drug conspiracies, modern slavery and human trafficking, and child sexual abuse and exploitation.

- The post holder must be computer literate and possess strong interpersonal skills. They will have experience of conveying technical matters to a non‑technical audience and have proven ability to work under pressure and prioritise their workload. A knowledge of the threats posed by fraud and cyber crime is also essential.
- Previous experience of working in a fraud and cyber security environment or the holding of a relevant qualification would be advantageous. Experience of working in partnership with private industry and of media engagement and message delivery are also desirable.
- The post holder should ideally hold a full current driving licence or be able to travel around the region using suitable transport.
