We're looking for someone patient and super‑organised to work in our carpentry and joinery team. You don't need teaching experience or qualifications, but you will need some industry experience – labouring, machining, window‑fitting or anything in between. Your role is to support students, prepare work spaces and facilitate practical activities.

You'll need to be …
  • organised and reliable
  • supportive, patient and approachable
  • confident with industry‑specific tools and machinery, with a great knack for explaining things simply and clearly
  • flexible and happy to muck in and do what's needed
  • knowledgeable about / experienced in a construction trade
What you’ll be doing
  • preparing for practical lessons – ensuring work spaces are spic and span
  • ordering tools, equipment, materials – keeping stocks just right
  • supporting lessons by guiding students and sharing your technical knowledge
  • providing a limited amount of teaching
In return, you’ll get …
  • 28 % pension – we pay an extra 28 % of your salary into your pension pot
  • at least 45 days' paid holiday per year (pro‑rata)
  • progression – many of our staff started out doing this role
  • a truly rewarding job, working with likeminded people who truly care about what they do
  • plenty of training from experienced staff before you teach alone
  • training leading to a teaching qualification for the right person

Closing date for receipt of completed applications: midnight Monday 5 January 2026.

Values: Ambition, collaboration, energy. We’re totally committed to safeguarding and welfare of all our students; you will be required to complete pre‑employment checks, including an enhanced DBS check and satisfactory references.
