Social Worker - Corporate Parenting East Devon

Job Overview

Social Worker required for work within the Corporate Parenting / LAC Team in the Devon area, based in Exeter & East Devon.

3‑month contract, 37 hours a week. Competitive hourly pay up to £38.

The team has a strong management structure and offers flexible working.

The CP service works with children in care and care‑experienced young people. It is supported by learning advocates from the Virtual School, careers advisors, entry‑to‑education workers, a housing pathway coordinator and homelessness prevention workers, as well as partners in health and other key agencies.

The CP service is a developing service with plans to support children and young people to achieve the best outcomes possible. Devon is part of the National Leaving Care Benchmarking Forum.

• Completing comprehensive assessments
• Preparing Care / Pathway Plans
• Engaging in court work (desirable but not essential)
• Undertaking statutory CiC reviews and visits
• Attending multi‑agency meetings
• Managing adolescent contextual risk
• Supervising, supporting, and mentoring young people moving into independent living

It is essential that candidates have good communication and strong report writing skills.

Applicants must: be Social Work England registered; ideally have a driver licence with access to a personal vehicle; and be able to reside and work in the UK.
