Support Worker – Residential Youth Care Assistant – Exeter, Full-Time, Permanent

About the role

We are seeking dedicated Support Workers to join a modern semi-independent residential home in Exeter that supports young adults aged 16-18 with Emotional & Behavioural Difficulties (EBD). Our client, a leading organisation in youth support and care, is looking for motivated individuals who want to provide exceptional care and support to young people. No two days are the same—your versatility and commitment will help young adults thrive as they transition to independent living.

Key responsibilities
  • Encourage young people to participate in activities and take responsibility for their own lives
  • Maintain a homely, friendly environment within the residential setting
  • Manage and respond to challenging behaviours with empathy and professionalism
  • Safeguard the health, safety, and welfare of young residents
  • Support young people to develop independence and life skills
  • Promote a safe, supportive, and inclusive environment
  • Collaborate with colleagues, parents, social workers, and other professionals involved in the young people's care
  • Uphold care plans, reward systems, and communication preferences for each individual
Requirements
  • Experience as a Children’s Residential Support Worker or with Young People is desirable but not essential
  • Healthcare or social care experience is advantageous
  • Hold a Full UK Driving Licence (required for transporting young people)
  • Must be over 21 years old
  • Able to commute to Exeter

Working hours
