Qualified Social Worker needed for our Kinship Assessment Team in Exeter, Devon, paying up to £36 ph!

About the Role:

We are seeking experienced Assessing Social Workers to join the Kinship Assessment Service covering Devon on a countywide basis, with a base in Exeter.

This is a rewarding opportunity to undertake high‑quality kinship assessments to ensure children are placed within safe, stable, and nurturing family networks wherever possible.

You will play a key role in assessing connected carers and extended family members, supporting permanency planning, and ensuring that all assessments are robust, analytical, and child‑focused.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Undertake comprehensive Kinship / Connected Persons assessments
  • Complete viability and full fostering assessments where required
  • Conduct home visits across the county to meet service needs
  • Provide clear, evidence‑based analysis and recommendations
  • Contribute to court processes and permanency planning
  • Work collaboratively with multi‑agency partners

Skills & Experience required:

  • Qualified Social Worker with Social Work England registration
  • Experience in kinship, fostering, or connected persons assessments
  • Strong assessment, analytical, and report‑writing skills. Ability to manage a countywide caseload effectively
  • Flexible and responsive to service demands
