Salary: £25,100.01-£26,276.87 (Actual salary £23,570.52-£24,679.49)
Hours: 37 hours per week, term time only (38 weeks per year)

We have an exciting opportunity for you to join a fun, passionate and caring team to support and empower our fabulous young people aged 16-25 within our Life and Living Skills Programme and Residential College service. It will be your job to support our young people to make their own decisions and reach their full potential, you will be required to support in a personalised way and respond to their needs, wishes and aspirations.

Within your role, you will support young people with a vision impairment and additional complex needs, to access the Life and Living Skills Programme. The programme is designed to support students to practice choice, control and independence in real time and context, enabling people to maximise their potential. Each young person has a clear, personalised living skills, accessing community support programme to fully prepare people for their next step, whatever that may be.

This could include you supporting the young person to visit new services to support choice and control about transition and where the person would like to live.

We follow an Active Support approach, doing things with people, not for them. Using a person‑centred approach, you will support young people with all aspects of daily life, including developing independence skills, accessing the community, planning activities, and providing personal care in a respectful and dignified way.

At weekends, our young people like to get out, explore and socialise, you will help support with accessing leisure and social activities within the community.

At InFocus, we will support you every step of the way by providing an excellent, well‑designed induction programme along with mandatory training which will help you get off to the best possible start, by ensuring that you fully understand your role within the organisation.

We are looking for kind, friendly and compassionate individuals with a minimum of two years’ care experience, who are motivated to make a positive difference in the lives of young people.

You will be confident providing one-to-one support, including delivering a high level of intimate personal care to young people of all genders, always maintaining dignity and respect.

The role also involves providing emotional and social support, including responding to behaviours of concern. Full training and ongoing support will be provided.

You will be someone who:

• Has the ability to build trusting relationships and support individuals to achieve their goals.

The working pattern is 37 hours per week, working on a two week rolling rota: including early shifts ) and alternate weekend working ).
