What you will do
- Provide day-to-day leadership, supervision and performance management for Social Workers and support staff within the Child Protection Team.
- Oversee the allocation, management and quality assurance of complex safeguarding cases involving Child in Need, Child Protection and care planning responsibilities.
- Ensure compliance with statutory duties under the Children Act 1989 and Children Act 2004, maintaining effective risk management and decision-making.
- Chair and contribute to strategy discussions, legal planning meetings and multi-agency safeguarding arrangements.
Person Specification
Qualifications:
- Degree in Social Work, CQSW, DipSW or equivalent recognised social work qualification.
- Registration with Social Work England (SWE).
- Evidence of continued professional development and management training.
Registration and Compliance:
- Current Social Work England registration.
Experience:
- Substantial post-qualification experience within Children’s Social Care.
- Significant experience managing Child Protection and Child in Need services.
- Experience supervising professional social work staff within a statutory safeguarding environment.
