Van Driver

Job Description

We are seeking a reliable and skilled Van Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for transporting goods safely and efficiently, ensuring timely deliveries while maintaining a high standard of customer service. This role requires strong communication skills and a good understanding of the rules of the road. You will have a drivers mate but will be required to lift items, so good physical fitness is required.

You may on occasion be asked to work in the warehouse.

Monday to Friday - various start times, often early 3am/4am. Occasional nights out. Usually a 45 hour week - once permanent extra time will be given in lieu.

For the right candidate this is a permanent role once you have successfully completed the temp to perm period. Own transport required due to location - there may be the opportunity to take the van hone on occasion.

• Safely operate a van to deliver goods to various locations.
• Load and unload items from the van, ensuring proper handling to prevent damage.
• Conduct regular inspections of the vehicle to ensure it is in good working condition, reporting any mechanical issues as necessary.
• Communicate effectively with warehouse staff and customers regarding delivery schedules and any potential delays.
• Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including logs of mileage and fuel consumption.
• Adhere to all traffic laws and company policies while driving.

• Valid driving licence (class
  
  B) with a clean driving record; experience as a Van Driver or Delivery Driver is preferred.
• Basic mechanical knowledge to perform routine maintenance checks on the vehicle.
• Strong communication skills to interact with customers and team members effectively.
• Ability to work independently and manage time efficiently to meet delivery deadlines.
• Ability to lift.
