Looking for a hands-on role where no two days are the same?

Pertemps are recruiting on behalf of a well-established and growing business in Exeter for a Yard Operative to join their busy depot team. If you enjoy working outdoors, like keeping active, and take pride in a job well done, this could be the perfect opportunity for you.
You'll play a key role in keeping the operation running smoothly, ensuring equipment is prepared, checked and ready to be delivered to customers across the region.

What you'll be doing

• Loading and unloading equipment safely and efficiently.
• Inspecting equipment to ensure it meets quality standards before dispatch and on return.
• Checking delivery and collection paperwork is accurate and complete.
• Maintaining a tidy, organised and safe yard at all times.
• Working closely with the depot team to keep stock levels accurate.
• Assisting with regular stock takes and reporting any discrepancies.
• Delivering excellent customer service when dealing with drivers and visitors.
• Following all Health & Safety procedures to ensure a safe working environment.

What we're looking forWe're looking for someone who enjoys practical work and isn't afraid to roll up their sleeves.
Ideally, you'll have:

• Experience in a yard, warehouse, production or industrial environment (preferred but not essential).
• A positive attitude and willingness to learn.
• A strong awareness of health and safety.
• Good attention to detail.
• The ability to work well as part of a close-knit team.
• A reliable and hardworking approach.
