Learning Support Assistant

Axcis Education are proud to support a SEND school specialising in support for students with complex needs who are part of the deaf community. The school is seeking a compassionate, motivated Learning Leader (Teaching Assistant) to join its dedicated team in Exmouth.

• Work collaboratively with teachers in preparing and delivering lessons that meet the needs of all learners.
• Communicate with pupils in a sensitive, supportive manner, adapting approaches to meet individual communication needs.
• Promote full inclusion, ensuring Deaf students—and all students—are fully supported in classroom and wider learning activities.
• Champion the safety and wellbeing of young people in line with the academy’s safeguarding policies.
• Contribute to the planning and delivery of Student Support Plans, ensuring interventions are well recorded and effectively implemented.

• Full-time role, Monday to Friday, 8:30‑3:30.
• BSL training level 2 (high chance of success for level 1 or 2 BSL holders).Up to date DBS or willingness for Axcis to process one on behalf.
• Knowledge of safeguarding policies and child protection.
• Positive, supportive working style and ability to work collaboratively.
