This position reports to the Area Field Service Manager.

The role is hybrid, with some time in the Linthicum, MD or Exton, PA office, remote engineering prep, and on-site customer installation.

The Senior Power Delivery Field Engineer will contribute to the profitability of the ABB Electrification Services Division in the Mid Atlantic Region with a main focus in the Mid Atlantic area.

• Be responsible for hands‑on execution of projects including startup, commissioning, maintenance, troubleshooting, engineering, design, and repair of power delivery equipment: switch gear, circuit breakers, PLCs, relays, power management controls systems, and other power‑related equipment and controls.
• Program and configure PLC systems, distributed I/O, and HMI interfaces for power monitoring and automation.
• Develop electrical equipment layouts, schematics, network architectures, and bills of material.

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering with four years of engineering or field experience; or a High School Diploma/GED with eight years of engineering/field experience in power delivery work.
• Minimum five years of field engineering experience.
• Strong knowledge of switch gear, circuit breakers, and low/medium voltage systems.
• Strong computer skills to include Outlook, Excel, and Word.
• Willingness to travel approximately 50% as required.
• Ability to possess and maintain a valid driver’s license.
• Existing U.S. work authorization.
• Experience with protective relay programming (Multilin, SEL, etc.).
• Plus: knowledge of PLC automation and control tools (Emerson/ABB), distributed I/O systems, and HMI development (Cimplicity HMI, Wonderware, or similar platforms).
• Proficiency in PLC programming tools such as Proficy Machine Edition and ABB Automation Builder.
• Generator controls knowledge.
• HMI development experience (Cimplicity HMI, Wonderware, or similar platforms).
• Skilled in AutoCAD for electrical design.
