Overview

The Housekeeping Supervisor manages housekeeping functions within assigned sections and assumes all Housekeeping Manager duties in their absence.

Responsibilities

Inspect Room Attendants’ work daily to ensure standards and productivity are met.

In the absence of the Housekeeping Manager or Assistant, inspect VIP rooms and report their status to the Front Office.

Oversee floor closing procedures, ensuring carts are clean and stocked.

Complete and submit daily assignment records on time.

Maintain key control procedures.

Handle Lost and Found items according to standards.

Monitor cleanliness of carts, linen closets, control closets, stairways, and landings.

Assign daily duties to staff, ensuring coverage.

Maintain communication with the Front Office and Engineering via pager/radio during shifts.

Report progress on out-of-order rooms to the Guest Services Manager.

Initiate and follow up on repair work orders with Engineering.

Assist in training housekeeping staff.

May be required to clean rooms as needed.

Ensure completion of biannual cleaning projects.

Maintain overall guest satisfaction.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent required; college coursework helpful.
Two to three years of experience in a hotel or related field preferred.
Previous supervisory experience preferred.
Ability to stand throughout entire shift.
Effective verbal and written communication skills with staff and guests, demonstrating friendliness and service orientation.
