McKenna Snyder LLC’s growing law practice in Exton, PA has an opportunity for a paralegal with litigation experience. The Firm has a robust practice focusing on educational institutions and small and mid‑sized businesses in a range of fields including education, special education, charter schools, labor and employment, business and corporate, environmental law and workers' compensation defense.

An education law paralegal assists attorneys with legal matters involving schools, students, and staff by performing research, drafting documents, managing case files, preparing for Due Process hearings and coordinating with clients and educational institutions. Key duties include supporting cases related to student rights, special education (e.g., IDEA compliance), student discipline, and harassment claims. This role requires strong organizational and research skills to handle complex regulations and tight deadlines.

Core

responsibilities
  • Case management: Maintain and organize case files, ensuring all documents are properly filed and accessible.
  • Document preparation: Draft legal documents, correspondence, and pleadings related to cases.
  • Legal research: Conduct legal research on education policies, student rights, and relevant laws at the federal, state, and local levels.
  • Client and witness communication: Act as a liaison between attorneys and clients, schools, and other individuals by gathering information and scheduling meetings.
  • Trial and hearing support: Assist attorneys with trial preparation, which may include gathering evidence, preparing witness lists, and attending hearings.
  • Compliance: Help ensure compliance with education laws, such as the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) and Title IX, by gathering records and preparing documentation for meetings like IEPs.

  • Technical proficiency: Competency in legal software and e‑filing systems is often required.
