Assembly Technician – Teledyne Qioptiq

We have an immediate opening for an Assembly Technician in our manufacturing team. This non‑exempt role provides overtime for hours over 40 per week.

Job Description

Responsibilities
  • Assemble discrete and multi‑chip semiconductor packages.
  • Dispense encapsulant and cure products.
  • Load and unload assembly fixtures.
  • Operate complex manufacturing equipment such as vacuum reflow furnaces, laser marking systems, packaging dicing saws, pick‑and‑place machines, nitrogen ovens, tunnel belt furnaces, oxygen plasma cleaners, vacuum encapsulation chambers, robotic dispensing gantries, manual solder screen stations, X‑ray and dimensioning inspection machines.
  • Maintain clean and organized work spaces.
Requirements
  • Attention to fine details.
  • Ability to wear ¾ or full‑face respirators and all required PPE.
  • Capable of moving inventory and/or small equipment.
  • Perform repetitive tasks with attentiveness.
  • Maintain constant movement – sitting, standing, bending, walking, and lifting up to 50 lb on occasion.
  • Steady hands for manual placement of components as small as 0.030 in.
  • Experience working with microscopes, tweezers, vacuum pens.
  • Follow detailed written or verbal procedures.
  • Prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Work independently and as part of a team.
  • Comfortable working around high voltage, high temperatures, and harsh chemicals.
  • U.S. citizenship required (DOE restrictions). ITAR‑licensed position. No visa sponsorship.
Desired
  • Mechanical aptitude.
  • Strong multitasking skills.
  • Flexible and proactive in getting the job done.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills.
  • Proficient with MS Office and network navigation.
  • Knowledge of electrical/electronic components and terminology.
  • Manufacturing or semiconductor packaging experience.
  • Expertise in soldering: surface‑mount, through‑hole, and wiring harnesses.
