OverviewSpherix is seeking a VP of Marketing to serve as a senior leader and key member of the company’s leadership team. Reporting directly to the CEO, the VP of Marketing will be responsible for defining and executing Spherix’s overall marketing vision and strategy to drive brand awareness, demand generation, and sustainable revenue growth. This role owns the end-to-end marketing function, including strategic planning, brand positioning, digital and traditional marketing execution, conference strategy, PR, and marketing operations.
As a member of the leadership team, the VP of Marketing will partner closely with executive leadership, sales, insights, and product teams to ensure marketing initiatives are tightly aligned with company priorities and growth objectives. This role is based in Exton, PA, with consideration for a remote arrangement.
- Marketing Strategy & Executive Leadership:
Define and own the company-wide marketing strategy, ensuring alignment with business objectives, growth priorities, and market positioning. - Serve as a member of the leadership team, contributing to enterprise-level strategy, planning, and decision-making.
- Act as a strategic advisor to the CEO and senior leadership on marketing performance, brand health, and market opportunities.
- Identify gaps and opportunities in current marketing efforts and translate them into clear, actionable strategic initiatives.
- Lead market and product innovation campaigns.
- Advance Franchise Heads’ thought leadership in key therapeutic areas via conference presentations and white papers.
- Team Leadership & Organizational Development:
Lead, mentor, and develop the marketing team, fostering a high-performance, accountable, and collaborative culture. - Set clear goals, priorities, and success metrics for the marketing function.
- Determine resourcing needs, role design, and capabilities required to support company growth.
- Oversee and manage external agencies, vendors, and consultants as needed.
- Demand Generation, Brand & Content Strategy:
Oversee the development and execution of integrated marketing strategies across digital and traditional channels to drive awareness, engagement, and pipeline growth. - Own brand strategy and positioning, ensuring consistency across all external and internal touchpoints.
- Guide content strategy and messaging, translating complex insights and products into compelling narratives.
- Oversee SEO, paid advertising, social media, email marketing, PR, and thought leadership initiatives.
- Marketing Operations, Analytics & Budget Ownership:
Own and manage the annual marketing and conference budget, ensuring effective allocation of resources and ROI. - Oversee marketing technology platforms (Hub Spot, etc.), including email campaigns, lead management, landing pages, and system integrations.
- Own and manage the company website and ensure digital platforms are aligned with brand and business goals.
- Define and track key marketing KPIs using tools such as Google Analytics and executive dashboards to measure performance, pipeline impact, and ROI.
- Sales, Insights & Cross-Functional Partnership:
Partner with Sales leadership to align marketing strategy with pipeline development, client engagement, and revenue goals. - Collaborate with Insights and Product leaders to support franchise strategies, product launches, and go-to-market planning.
- Regularly review pipeline performance and develop solutions in partnership with commercial leadership.
- Events, Conferences & External Presence:
Own the company’s conference and events strategy, including planning, messaging, and post-event performance analysis. - Maintain a strong, professional, and differentiated presence at key industry conferences and events.
- 15+ years of experience in B2B marketing, preferably within healthcare, pharmaceutical market research, or professional services.
- Proven experience leading and developing marketing teams.
- Strong expertise in marketing technology platforms, with direct Hub Spot experience required.
