Role Overview

Our diabetic eye screening platform is a key growth driver within NEC Health. We are seeking an experienced Product Manager with exceptional communication and influence skills, who is excited by improving the lives of patients, and driving value-based care. This role is accountable for hand-on operational delivery, and strategic research and planning.

Accountabilities Strategy:
  • Strategic vision and influence:
Own the strategic ‘north star’ of your product, author and communicate a clear narrative around this vision, and gain buy-in from all levels of NEC and beyond using compelling evidence and insight.

  • Product growth. Deliver ambitious roadmaps that grow market share and enter new markets (public / private / international).

  • Product, tech, market, & competitor research. Act as a domain SME, staying ahead of market and technology trends, as well as analysing our competitors. You will maintain the associated collateral including documenting our relative position in the market, potential partnerships and growth opportunities.

  • Go-to-market execution. Lead go-to-market planning and execution for new products and features, orchestrating cross-functional teams and owning outcomes.

  • Product ownership. End-to-end ownership of the product lifecycle, balancing system health, delivery commitments and innovation, while owning the value narrative behind decisions supported by commercial and market insight.

  • Iterative value delivery. Break down initiatives into small, frequently releasable increments of value - assessing outcomes with customers and stakeholders throughout delivery.

  • Voice of the customer. Build trusted customer/user relationships and represent customer needs and preferences within the wider product team.

  • User-centred design. Apply design-thinking, mapping and tracking end-to-end user, patient, and customer journeys, to improve user and patient experience - collaborating with design, clinical and other cross-functional teams. Organise and lead customer & user engagement/feedback sessions (individual and group).

  • Measuring success. Define and track product key performance indicators (KPIs) aligned to your business unit’s objectives and key results (OKRs), owning the sourcing of data where gaps exist.

  • Third-party collaboration. Work with technical teams to assess third-party solutions, ensuring value for money and strategic fit.

Operations & Communication:
  • Product backlog. Own and manage/prioritise the product backlog, balancing system health, delivery commitments and incremental value – able to build clear narratives explaining your decisions that gain buy-in. You will maintain a minimal amount of ‘ready’ work within your backlog to keep your team forever busy.

  • Demand management & requirements gathering/documentation. Own the new demand funnel into your team, as well as the prioritisation of new working coming into your team and be accountable for the quality and sign off requirements & user story documentation – collaborating with the wider product team to define and meet acceptance criteria and ‘ready’/‘done’ standards.

  • Quality products, on time. Accountable for value delivered to customers, working with technical leads to ensure scalable, quality, interoperable solutions are delivered on time, whilst coordinating releases and associated communications.

  • Release coordination. Coordinate releases and associated communications to ensure clarity and readiness for customers and stakeholders.

  • Stakeholder/customer management. Build trusted relationships with internal and external stakeholders/customers – including using proactive, clear, and personalised communication.

  • Team ways of working. Work with development leaders to maintain effective team RACI and strive to continuously improve delivery predictability, quality, efficiency and effectiveness.

  • Product collateral. Create and maintain all product…
