Job summary

We are seeking a motivated and compassionate individual to join the Cheshire Diabetic Eye Screening Programme as a Diabetic Eye Screener. This is a rewarding and essential role, helping to prevent sight loss by delivering high‑quality retinal screening to people living with diabetes. You will also provide valuable support to our administration team to ensure the smooth running of day‑to‑day operations.

Working as part of a rota, the successful applicant will spend part of the week based at Alsager Health Centre, supporting our Administration Team. For the remainder of the week, you will travel to one of our 18 community screening venues across Cheshire, running clinics independently. Travel time is included in clinic templates, and travel expenses are paid.

Screeners work 08:30 am‑16:30 pm, with a half‑hour lunch break, and complete one late clinic per month (18.00/18.30 pm finish but later start time). We ideally require someone who can work Monday and Friday, although working days can be discussed at interview.

Previous experience in healthcare, optometry, or screening is helpful but not essential, as full training will be provided. If you do not hold a Level 3 Diploma for Health Screeners, you will initially be appointed at Band 2 until all training and accreditation requirements are completed.

Please note the salary advertised is the full‑time salary and this job role is part‑time (30 hours per week).
