We are recruiting a Diabetic Eye Screener/grader who shares our vision to be trusted to provide consistently outstanding care and exemplary service to our patients. The post holder will carry out accurate visual acuity testing, correctly administer anaesthetic and dilation eye drops before retinal photography according to departmental protocol, be aware of possible undesirable effects of dilating drops, provide patient education, take high quality and correctly aligned photographs using external fixation, accurately grade images according to screening programme requirements, send results to patients and GPs as directed, and deal with patients sympathetically and tactfully while maintaining confidentiality.
Previous photographic and/or diagnostic imaging experience is desirable.

You will be required to work evening and weekend hours in this role. In addition, you will receive a High‑Cost Area Supplement of 5% of your basic salary, subject to a minimum payment of £1,258 and a maximum payment of £2,121 per annum pro‑rata.
