Financial Advisor - Northern

SUMMARY
:
Incumbent is a dual employee of Columbia Bank and Cetera Investment Services LLC responsible for providing financial advice, financial planning, and investment management to serve the needs of the Bank’s consumer and business customers. Assesses the customer’s investment portfolio and financial objectives and provides guidance to the customer on successfully achieving those objectives.

Job Description:

• Meet with customers to review their existing financial situation and to establish the client planner relationship. Develop and present recommendations and alternatives to meet the client’s needs for:
  Retirement Planning, Tax Management, Business Continuity/Succession, Estate Planning, Education Funding, Life Insurance, etc. Implement and monitor these recommendations to meet the client’s needs over time.
• Assess the client’s investment portfolio. Recommend an asset allocation and specific plan to meet established objectives. Execute an investment strategy suggesting specific investments and insurance products, for client approval, including: separately managed investment accounts, Mutual Funds, Annuities, Equities, Fixed Income Investments, Corporate and Tax Exempt Bonds, and Life Insurance.
• Interact with all departments of the Bank, providing products and services to business and consumer customers, in order to generate referrals from these departments. Provide feedback to referring individuals and departments on the status of the referral.
• Maintain an ongoing client relationship by conducting periodic reviews with each client on a scheduled and “as needed” basis.
• Generate additional referrals from personal networking, seminars, and presentations to community groups.
• Keep abreast of new planning tools, products and resources, changing regulations, and professional standards, including continuing education requirements.

Job Requirements:

• 3-5 years of experience in a Financial Advisor position;
• A Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, or Accounting is preferred;
• Licenses must be current and in good standing: FINRA 7, 65/66, and a State Life/Health Insurance License is required; CFP if applicable.
• The ability to work independently, make decisions, and work effectively under pressure;
• The ability to deal effectively and professionally with clients and potential clients;
• Experience and skill in selling financial products and services;
• Able to collaborate with all levels of Bank personnel;
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills and good computer skills;
• Excellent organizational, follow-up, and time management skills;
• Professional appearance and demeanor.
