What You Will Be Doing
The Law Office Assistant 1 position provides legal and administrative support to prosecutors in the Fairbanks District Attorney’s Office.
Responsibilities include:
- Typing and formatting legal documents.
- Performing data entry and organizing electronic files.
- Communicating with outside agencies and individuals verbally and in writing.

Workweek 37.5 hours; 12 paid holidays; personal leave starting at 6 hours per pay period; flexible core hours 8:00 AM–4:30 PM.

- Problem Solving: identifies problems and generates and evaluates alternatives.
One year of experience performing customer service contact and standard administrative tasks such as preparing correspondence, filing, entering data, maintaining logs, and using business software.
Substitutions: an associate’s degree or legal support certification can substitute for experience. A vocational‑technical certification in a generalized business support area may substitute for up to 6 months of experience.
All must obtain Notary Public and pass a criminal background check.
