Join the Signers’ Business Office as a Grant and Contract Manager and play a key role in supporting UAF’s research, continuing education, and community programs. In this position, you’ll manage a diverse portfolio of grants and contracts—handling award setup, budget management, reporting, and compliance for projects that make a real impact across Alaska and beyond.

You’ll work closely with faculty, researchers, and administrators to interpret funding terms, resolve financial challenges, and ensure smooth post-award operations. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys problem-solving, data analysis, and collaboration in a mission-driven environment.

You’ll succeed in this role if you have strong analytical instincts, enjoy working with numbers and people, and take pride in ensuring fiscal accuracy and compliance. The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, and confident navigating complex funding structures in a collaborative university environment. Success in this position requires knowledge of cost-benefit analysis, budget forecasting, and budget preparation procedures, as well as a solid understanding of contract administration and post-award financial management.

You should be able to analyze and interpret fiscal data, prepare accurate projections, and synthesize complex grant and contract information while maintaining clear communication with faculty, staff, and funding agencies.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, statistics, or related field and 2 years professional fiscal experience or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
  • Preference:
    Bachelor’s degree in accounting or Business Management with substantial accounting coursework and two years of professional experience in fiscal management, government, university, grants and contracts position, or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
Position Details

This is a full-time, term‑funded, exempt staff position complete with both a competitive salary and full employee benefits package. UA provides a generous compensation package that includes retirement options, annual leave, 12 paid holidays per year, tuition waivers for employees and family members, and affordable medical, dental and vision care coverage. New hires will be placed on the UA Staff Salary Schedule, Grade 79, based on education and experience.
