We are seeking a Medical Optometrist to join our collaborative, patient-centered team. This is a rare opportunity to practice full-scope optometry alongside fellowship-trained ophthalmologists in a modern, high-volume medical setting—while enjoying an adventurous lifestyle that only Alaska can offer.
What You’ll Do- Provide comprehensive optometric care to a broad and medically diverse patient population
- Work closely with ophthalmologists in a respected co-management model
- Evaluate and manage a wide range of ocular conditions such as:
- Post-operative cases
- Glaucoma, Anterior/posterior segment disease, Ocular trauma, Neuro-ophthalmic disorders
- Complete thorough medical histories and create customized treatment plans
- Educate patients on conditions, treatments, and preventive eye health
- Demonstrate exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
- Perform other duties as needed to support excellent patient care
- Doctor of Optometry (OD) degree
- Eligibility for Alaska State Optometry licensure
- 1–2+ years of medical optometry experience or completion of an ACOE-accredited residency
- Strong preference for experience in a medically focused or surgical co-management setting
- A passion for patient care, teamwork, and continuous professional growth
