Associate Pastor of Worship and Connections

We are seeking an individual with an adventurous spirit who is willing to shepherd, alongside three other pastors, a large congregation in the last frontier of Fairbanks, Alaska. He will be part of our shepherding team and will participate in the duties of the pastoral staff, including preaching, counseling, officiating weddings and funerals, and serving as an elder. He will also lead and oversee the worship ministry, including planning services and recruiting.

As head of the Connections Ministry, he will oversee the church’s connections strategy (helping people move from attending to belonging) and help create a warm, welcoming atmosphere on Sunday mornings.

Our candidate shall bea Christian who demonstrates a personal relationship with Jesus Christ through worship, prayer, Bible reading, application of the Word, and looks for opportunities to share his faith. He will fulfill the requirements of 1 Timothy 3 and Titus 1. He shall be a model of Christlikeness in his marriage and other personal relationships. He must agree with this church’s doctrinal statement.

He must have a bachelor’s degree from an accredited Bible college or equivalent ministry experience. He must be capable of shepherding a large congregation. He must demonstrate musical skill and theological discernment. He must have a proven track record of ministry. He must be able to shepherd people from the platform as we worship. He must demonstrate excellent verbal communication skills.

He must have a proven ability to work with and maintain positive, loyal relationships with those inside and outside the church.
